Lighting information as connected records
Most lighting information still arrives as documents.
Datasheets, spreadsheets, IES files, certificates, BIM objects and web pages each describe parts of the same product but rarely share a consistent structure.
TFM Data is being built to connect those parts.
A product record can eventually connect:
manufacturer
product family
variant
technical properties
photometry
spectrum
documents
test evidence
source
revision
verification status
The objective is not simply to collect more products.
It is to make the information surrounding them more useful.
Provenance
Whenever practical, TFM distinguishes between information that is:
measured
manufacturer-declared
calculated
simulated
derived
estimated
unknown
Source and verification information remain attached to the record.
Status
The TFM database is currently under development.
Public search and machine interfaces will be introduced progressively as the structure and validation process mature.
