Lighting investigated rather than presented
TFM Studies uses conceptual spaces and controlled experiments to explore lighting behaviour.
These are not presented as commissioned projects.
They are technical investigations.
A study may examine the effect of geometry, distribution, surface properties, spectrum, positioning, controls or another variable.
Each study follows a common structure:
Context → Requirement → Evidence → Computation → Decision → Outcome
Where practical, the input files, assumptions and methodology are made available so the investigation can be reproduced.
Why conceptual studies?
A controlled conceptual environment allows variables to be isolated without exposing confidential project information.
It also makes the work easier to reproduce.
The purpose is not to demonstrate a portfolio.
It is to create reusable knowledge.
